A Few of the Reasons Your Engine May be Overheating

When your car is overheating, it could be a result of one or more of the following parts failing. The easiest repair and least expensive fix would be if the hose clamps are failing. If they appear to be loose or corroded and no longer tightening, coolant could be leaking from the ends of the radiator hoses.

Feel the radiator hoses for soft spots or bulges, this could be an indication they are close to failing. The water pump will give clear signs when it is no longer working at circulating engine coolant to the radiator. Feel the bottom of the pump for wetness, coolant could be leaking out the bottom once the bearing inside fails.

If the radiator fan is not spinning, coolant is going to get too hot. Bring your car to our Lakewood auto service center so the crew can give the cooling system a complete inspection and replace any failing parts.
