Getting a car with leather seats is a great way to increase the value of your car. They look and feel luxurious, but in order to retain their value you have to take care of them. To prevent the leather from fading and cracking they need to be properly cleaned and conditioned. Here's what you should do:
- Use a vacuum with a hose attachment to vacuum the seats before you clean them. This will easily reach dirt and crumbs.
- Dampen a clean cloth with leather cleaner and wipe the seats all over. Make sure it's not too wet otherwise it can damage the leather.
- Test the cleaner on a small hard to see spot. If there's no issue, spray the cleaner directly on your seats and use a cloth to wipe it away.
- If there's a spot that's harder to get out you can use a soft-bristled brush to scrub.
- Allow seats to dry before driving.
